I strive to be an inspiration to others in my community by pushing for the future innovators of the world to have a more diverse perspective on people. As an Engineering Peer Educator at the University of Washington (UW), and as an ambassador for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in STEM (LSAMP), I have been able to enjoy working with people who have disparate nationalities, cultural backgrounds, and political viewpoints. Being surrounded by individuals who think from a different perspective than myself has helped me stay more well informed about events and cultures outside of my own. This helps me attain a more global mindset, a characteristic that I believe will make me a wiser engineer. As a future researcher and innovator, I aim to support technologies targeted at improving the standard of living for people around the globe, not just solely for developed nations.
